My Students

I am very lucky this year to be working with 4 different groups of math students. I am working with students that are part of my district's Accelerated Math Program. These students love math and they are being challenged this year with learning 1 1/2 year of math content in one school year.

To help me challenge and motivate these math students that range in age from 8 to 11 and are working on 3rd grade to 7th grade math, I need to supplement my instruction.

I am looking to enrich my math classroom with some additional center activities to teach my students real world skills including financial literacy. Help me make my dream come true.

My Project

My students love to work in small cooperative groups while working on their math. Often, hearing their peers work through a problem, they are able to solve their problems with more success. We have Number Talks to practice real world mental math problems to start off each one of my 4 math classes. Having the DynaMath magazines will allow my students to work with their peers and learn more about real world math situations in the classroom. These magazines are very interactive and can allow my students to enrich their math education.

My math students will get a chance to discover new real world math situations as they read through the DynaMath magazines.

They will see real world applications.
