My Students

My high school students are enthusiastic, motivated, dedicated, hardworking and above all, very curious learners. They are very interested in learning biology, the science of life.

We are a high performing school, where every student strives to achieve their highest potential and become a citizen with strong science-based skills—not only in specific content areas but also with skills such as critical thinking and inquiry-based problem solving.

My goal for my students is to help them attain their academic goals, their science-based skills, be good citizens and inspire them to be lifelong learners.

My Project

We begin our year in biology, learning about the chemistry of biomolecules (the molecules that all living things are made up of). My students struggle with the concepts in Biochemistry because a lot of 3-D visualization is involved.

The molecular models will allow my students to visualize the structure of these molecules, which will help them understand how structure correlates to function.

Developing and using models is one of the "Science Skills" that my students will need according to the NGSS. The molecular models will help them attain those skills. The unique hands-on building experience will help my students truly understand the biochemistry of these biomolecules.
