Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

How Play-Doh Transforms Learning

Play-Doh is far more than just a fun plaything—it is a powerful educational tool that supports learning across multiple areas:

Fine Motor Development: Squeezing, rolling, squishing, and cutting dough builds the essential hand strength and finger dexterity needed for holding pencils, writing, and using scissors.

Literacy & Math Skills: Students will use dough to form letters, build sight words, model geometric shapes, and practice early counting and pattern-making.

Social-Emotional & Sensory Support: Tactical play offers a calming, sensory-rich outlet for students to manage emotions, decompress, and build focus.

Creative Expression: Open-ended modeling allows students to bring their stories, science concepts, and imaginative ideas to life in three dimensions.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
