Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Many of my multilingual learners come from homes where they do not receive the emotional support they need. Creating a welcoming classroom environment where students feel at ease is crucial, especially when learning a new language in a country that may be foreign to them. I want all of my students to feel loved, happy and welcome.
I plan on creating a "calm down corner" when students feel upset.
Flexible seating will help students have relaxing seating options when learning. I hope to inspire my students with books that focus on interesting science topics, reward them with fun stickers, fidget toys, and provide them with basic supplies like pencils, crayons, markers and notebooks.
