My Project

I work with students in the small group, special education setting. My students each have diverse and unique needs, and they learn in a variety of ways. I love their differences, I love their individuality, and I love and respect their perspectives. In addition, I love how reading connects us all as humans through story-telling and testaments.

The students I serve are developing their love of reading, but I am challenged by not having access to books that are modern, of high interest, diverse, inclusive, and representative of our global community.

The books requested will help me build a reading classroom that fosters the love of reading in a way that approaches global citizenship and humanity that is relational to the students I serve.
