This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing individuals that need hands-on opportunities to feel successful! I teach mostly English language learners at a Title I school and this year we are starting the school year virtually!
During distance learning, my students relied on my assistance on a daily basis to use their devices/technology for live streaming lessons as well as for assistance with their assignments.
For language learners having to see teachers daily through live streams is very important.
My students come to school each day excited to learn, but unfortunately that excitement dwindles away when confronted with the harsh reality that they need a lot of remedial support. More of the same is not what they need; innovative intervention is needed to make them succeed in school. Together, we can make their academic success a reality!
My Project
Classrooms across the globe have changed dramatically and now that distance learning will transition to hybrid learning, communal classroom libraries are a no go!
Envisioning a classroom without a library seems appalling.
We need your help to make this mobile library a reality!
With this mobile library, I will be able to still offer high interest books to all students. I envision the stand being wheeled out and a basket per child. At the end of the day, the stand will be wheeled into a corner of the room for a 72 hour hold. The mesh bags will be to keep the books protected between the cohorts.
