My Students
My students come from an extremely high-poverty area. Many of them have difficult home lives and are not given the love and support that I wish all children could receive at home. Keeping this in mind, I try to do everything I can to provide them with a loving, supportive, a safe environment when they are at school.
My students deserve to have the tools needed to develop a love of learning.
It is my hope that my students can escape their home lives while in our classroom. I want them to walk into our classroom and feel like they have everything they need (materials, support, love, confidence, knowledge) to succeed.
My Project
My students will utilize the pocket chart stands and sentence strips during center rotations. They will be able to work on content from all subject areas using these tools. These tools will also allow them to work almost anywhere in our classroom.
These resources will have a huge impact on my students' engagement and learning.
They will help to expose them to new topics and allow them to interact with it in a meaningful way.
The scholastic magazines will be used for practice in reading nonfiction text, as a research source for writing, and as a tool to engage my students in meaningful discussions about relevant topics.
