My Students

Students respond to action! Standing at a podium and lecturing is putting students to sleep. It's time for teachers to join the 21st century and start moving around in their classrooms.

My students are from middle-class, working families and they have high expectations for their educations.

Our school sends several students to junior college and college each year, but we don't have many of the same technologies and materials that students are likely to encounter as they further their educations.

My Project

Imagine being able to stand anywhere in a classroom and project images or play audio with a flick of your finger on this slate tablet. Imagine having instant access to translated texts for English language learners that you could project onto a wall or send to a printer. Imagine instant web access to supplemental readings or artwork that you want to share with your students. Imagine all those spur-of-the-moment ideas that never were because too much time passed after you thought of them, and then imagine being able to make them reality in seconds.

Overwhelming amounts of research confirm that the traditional lecture method of teaching is leaving students behind.

Students need learning that caters to their attention spans and stimulates different learning styles including visual and kinesthetic learning. Please help me acquire the tools I need to generate the enthusiasm and liveliness that I know will lead to critical learning!
