This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students thrive in our small learning environment that fosters a collaborative culture, which focuses on credit recovery and academics to help build the bridge to post-secondary education.

MO High School is a two-time awarded Model Continuation School for the State of California, with approximately 80 students.

MO prides itself in providing educational alternatives to help students fulfill their graduation requirements and earn a high school diploma. Teachers and students love to be apart of this amazing community!

My Project

Mindful meditation is a recent program that has shown a positive impact on the school environment by teaching young adults a method of maintaining calm and reduce stress in their lives. While mindful meditation is a newer concept in schools, it has demonstrated academic performance and has resulted in a 75% decrease in suspensions.

MO students meditate for 5 minutes at the beginning of each day.

There are two meditation teachers who lead an enrichment course twice a week. We are in need of such things as yoga mats, a sound machine, a Bluetooth speaker, a fountain, and more.
