MLK Little Library

Help me give my students access to reading! Many students do not have access to reading materials and we are looking to create a "Little Library" where students can check exchange reading material.

My Students

My students are diverse, capable, and intelligent young individuals who have to potential to bring something unique and special to the world. They are discovering who they are, so they can express their own opinions and change our society for the better.

My students live in a high-poverty area in the North End of Hartford and attend their neighborhood school.

My Project

My students love to read, however, many do not have access to a library or have books at their home. This "Little Library" will help provide books to kids hungry for the written word. It will be used during free time where students can freely exchange reading material. Students can check out a book or donate a book. The "Little Library" is designed to help inspire students to become strong and confident readers, expose them to new and exciting reading material and inspire other students to become readers as well.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
