Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our students are unique and driven. Even though they come from a variety of backgrounds, we speak positive things into each of their lives and expect them to accomplish great things. Our Title I elementary school is family-knit and we try our best to be there for each other and help where we can. Families at our school may not have much, but they do have a school and community that cares. It’s all about working towards a goal.

My Project

I want to show my students the world! I grew up on Mr. Rogers, and I just know he would flip to see something as cool as virtual reality! When I came across the Oculus VR Headset I shouted, "This is it! This is exactly what our students need!"

I want my students to become confident explorers.

With the Oculus VR Headset, students can travel outside the classroom walls and be exposed to more ideas, places and opportunities than ever before. Students can do guided meditation, they can explore the planet using Google Earth, and learn more about our world through National Geographic! All through Virtual Reality! But funding for this project will most certainly take a community effort. For individuals, such as yourself, who take pride in learning, who love hands-on, engaging lessons, and for those of you who strongly wished they had something like this when they were in school...this project needs you. And can be made possible because of you. My students, teachers, and I thank you for anything you can give to help us plan, grow and succeed. Three Cheers for our amazing donors!
