This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our diverse, Title One, middle school population includes students who want to save the oceans, doctors, entrepreneurs, rock stars and future-professional athletes. They dream big, work hard, and want to make a difference! The items for this project include items for growing and learning about coastal mangroves, as well as plant giveaways to keep students & families engaged and having fun at our outdoor environmental community event.

This winter, our students will participate in their third annual school-wide Mission Possible: Sharks in Action Project Based Learning Public Showcase; students will learn about how we can help to protect and conserve our oceans and backyard coastal habitats and display their learning at a community event.

Students will present their learning at this PBL showcase for all to see and hear. We hope to engage our families and the community at large in this important conservation event. Through family and community involvement we can make actionable change and help our students to develop a conservation mindset!
