The 2020-2021 school year has been challenging for students and educators alike. I teach at a Title I school in an urban environment. While my subject area of marine science is one that brings my students and I together and allows us to connect about something that many of us really love, this is also a year of great disconnect. Two-thirds of my sixth grade students have never even stepped foot into our buildings this year. They do not know many of their peers and they do not know our school very well. I am requesting paper, a printer and ink to print out amazing work and student images to foster classroom bonding during these unprecedented times. By printing out my students' amazing work and printing out their likeness for our class room we can all grow and bond in a way not possible before, during this pandemic. By donating to our project, you will not only help to brighten our classroom and brighten their day, you will ultimately help to increase their connections to their middle school peers.
