My Students

My students attend one of the largest elementary schools in our state. I have 25 amazing, ambitious, energetic and ready to learn students in my classroom! The students in my class come from a wide range of before school experience. During the first quarter of school they have already shown great academic gains!

First Grade is an extraordinary place!

It is a place where I need to set the stage for the students to fall in love with learning! A First Grader should want to go to school, and they should be excited to see what the day will bring when they come through my door! It is my goal to create hands-on engaging lessons that fuel their fire to learn the new academic standards during the year.

My Project

My 1st grade classroom currently has 25 energetic, ambitious, wonderful students! Despite having to remove unnecessary furniture, I still want to give my students the option to move around the room to work and have more choices than the floor or their table spot. I also want to provide opportunities for my students that need to be able to fidget while they are at their spot to do so with minimal distraction to their peers.

The flexible seating options will provide opportunities for my students to engage their core into a holding position which has been shown to improve focus and attention.

With donations I will be able to purchase the necessary flexible seating options for my students.
