My Project

I teach students who have many learning challenges including Autism and Learning Disabilities. They range in age from 5 to 9. One of the biggest challenges my students face is emotional regulation.

We have the privilege this year to create a sensory room for all students to use during times of dysregulation.

The large shatterproof mirror, that we are requesting, will be hung in our brand new sensory room. The mirror will help us to model different emotions with a student and what our bodies look like during times of regulation. A mirror will also help us to develop imitation skills with students who are learning this skill.
