This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are passionate about the environment and eager to solve the problems caused by human actions. In our unit on Human Impacts, we study the various ways that humans can alter the environment in a negative manner. In particular, we focus on runoff from factories and farms and the environmental effect it can have on the growth of harmful algae. The students will use the materials in this project to understand what bacteria, viruses, and algae look like and to consider how human actions can cause them to be present in the environment and disrupt the ecosystem.
