Mindfulness and Learning Are Our Thing!

Help me give my students a calming environment that will promote learning in the classroom.

My Students

This year I am teaching 3rd grade at a new school. It is a Title 1 School in a rural area. My school has amazing students and staff! My third grade students come to school excited and eager to learn. I can't wait to help them achieve their goals this year. These students deserve the best.

My Project

My students need mindfulness techniques more than ever. Since COVID-19, students have needed help with managing emotions and feelings. My class will use these items to promote a safe and calming environment for learning. Each student will have a pair of noise canceling headphones when they feel they need to block out noise to concentrate. They will also have a bouncy band for their chair when they feel they need a movement activity to improve learning. I will also have a mindfulness corner when students need a break. I will add a rug, fidgets and weighted items in this area to help students.
