Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach students who are bright, loving, and deserving of more! The children come from an area where parents do not have the resources to send their children to after school activities. The teachers volunteer their time and own money to host after school activities for our students.

These children are so bright and creative but need more resources to develop what they have naturally.

They come to school and try their best each and every day. They walk to school by themselves and many times they do not eat breakfast before they come.

They love to be creative and have fun! This donations will allow them for have some fun in a safe place after school.

My Project

Each day in my class we spend about 20 minutes having Mindful Moments. During this time my scholars can spend time with a activity of their choice. These activities include: puzzles of various sizes and pieces, working with play doh, using blocks to build, coloring, reading books, or even choosing a center. This time is so important for my students because they need some time working on mindful activities. I see a huge improvement in their ability to focus on academics omg ether have had some time to be mindful and do something they enjoy. They look forward to this time each day.
