Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

What I love most about my students is their resilience, creativity, and willingness to learn and grow emotionally. Many of them face daily challenges, but they show up with open hearts and a desire to connect, express themselves, and build better coping strategies.

The materials I’m requesting—mindfulness jars and the calming supplies to go inside them—will give my students a powerful tool to support their emotional regulation and focus.

These jars will be filled with calming elements like glitter, water, and other sensory materials, providing students with a visual and tactile way to calm their minds during moments of stress or frustration.

My goal for this project is to give students a hands-on, meaningful experience that helps them better understand and manage their emotions. Creating their own mindfulness jars will allow them to personalize a calming tool they can use throughout the school day. It’s an empowering process that helps students take ownership of their emotional wellness.

What makes my students special is their strength, creativity, and potential. They deserve tools that support their growth and help them navigate their feelings in healthy ways. These mindfulness jars will be a simple yet powerful resource on their journey toward self-regulation and confidence.
