My Students

My students have very limited hands on materials. All of the requested items will allow them to interact with what they are learning. They will also serve as motivators to get kids through some of the more challenging concepts they face. Knowing we have these tools will get kids excited to learn!

My students come from a rural area with low socioeconomic backgrounds.

They see poverty around them and need to become excited about education so they can break the cycle. Our school is one of the oldest in the area and doesn't have access to a lot of technology or science materials. My class has a lot of potential. Most of my kids just need motivation, something to get them excited about school. My project will help me avoid the dreaded parade of worksheets and see the learning fire lite in the eyes of my students. My class is very hard working and considerate, so I know they will take excellent care of the tools we receive. With the help we receive we will be able to get out of our seats and use each tool as a center. Our room will be buzzing with learning! My class is a mix of Caucasians, Native Americans, and Hispanics. Many of whom are English language learners. Please help me enrich the lives of my students by donating to our project!

My Project

We can use our materials in a variety of ways! We can use them as learning centers, we can use them as stations for children who finish early with regular work. We can use them to review for our state standardized tests at the end of the year. We will use the microscope, game, and quizzillion every day in our room. The quizzillion is very versatile and I can use it in any subject. I can even use it as a special project where a student gets to create questions based on research he or she has done! I believe these tools will motivate my students to go beyond required thinking, these items will help to open their minds and get them excited about learning. The quizzillion can make any topic come alive and the microscope will literally show students things they have never seen before. The language game will really help prepare my kids for the challenges of fifth grade. Please help us find a million ways to learn!

The quizzillion will be used in a variety of ways to help bring even the most mundane topic to life by creating an interactive game about it! These tools will be used this year and by future fourth graders, so you will touch the lives of hundreds of students by giving to this project!
