My Students

My students are eager to learn third graders! Our classroom is filled with lifelong, diverse, enthusiastic, kind learners. We motivate and encourage one another to be ourselves and to learn from one another.

No one is afraid to make a mistake because my students know that this is how we learn.

We work together to achieve success! We celebrate the uniqueness and diversity that we all bring to the classroom.

We are a large, urban, public, K-8 school with close to one thousand students in the heart of the city. Many students receive free breakfast and lunch due to economic hardship. We are extremely caring and supportive of one another. It is a great place to be!

My Project

Due to the pandemic, my mathematicians are having difficulty with 3-digit addition and subtraction. I would love to provide them with individual base 10 blocks as a visual to understand the concept.

The base 10 blocks will enhance my students' learning and allow a deeper understanding.

This year has been a struggle for most of my students. Many students lost a lot of learning during remote learning last year and are losing time in person this year due to rapid COVID cases leading them to quarantine at home. They always feel like they are behind. I want to celebrate their accomplishments and how far they have come with a fun math art project. I want to bring as much joy as I can to their lives.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
