My Students

My students are truly exceptional! We have a growing choral program at my school, and we are working on expanding their musical opportunities. For so many of my students, music is an outlet that makes them feel connected to each other, to their school, and to their community. These kids do not come from money, and they possess a hard work ethic that is beyond compare! I adore their grit, their tenacity, and intense desire to grow! The flexibility that they demonstrate as well as their polite and attentive demeanor make them a sincere joy to teach.

My Project

We are taking our show on the road! Our choir is heading to Chicago to participate in a collegiate, choral clinic! My students will have the opportunity to work with a choral professor on their developing ensemble skills, technique, and musicianship.

This real-world experience shows them that there is music beyond our choir room, and there are opportunities to continue music in a collegiate setting.

It is my goal to show them how music is a lifelong practice that is continuously rewarding. In addition, taking part in a collegiate experience will hopefully inspire my students to pursue a college education after graduation.

In addition to our clinic, we will be performing at Medieval Times Dinner Theater, attending a performance of a Broadway musical, and taking in the sights of this arts inspired city! Most of my students have never had the opportunity to travel. This experience will not only stretch their view of the world, but it will also provide meaningful memories and learning experiences for their musical futures.

Most of my students are struggling to make the payments necessary for the trip, but I currently have four students who are in dire need of your support! They have participated in fundraisers to raise half of their payments. However, they still find themselves falling short of the payment deadlines due to significant economic struggles within their families. With your help, I can provide four $250 scholarships to my students in need! This way, the only thing they will have to worry about is making music!
