My students are eighth-graders in a low-income middle school. However, this doesn't stop them from working hard daily to overcome hardships they may face in order to reach their goals. My students come from very diverse families and backgrounds, but yet they work hard daily to learn from one another. I am impressed daily by their positive attitudes and eagerness to learn, even during these challenging times of returning back to school full time.
My students have shown their resilience so far this year by putting forth their best and striving to reach their goals no matter what challenges may arise.
By providing them with materials necessary to keep our classroom engaging yet socially distant, I know that we can turn this difficult year into a huge success!
My Project
This year has proven to be just as challenging as last year. Although my students are struggling with the adjustment of returning to school full time, they continue to show up each day and work hard! That is evident in the amount and pencils and printer ink they are using up! They are writing assignments and completing graphic organizers, and printing out their research projects. I am so proud of them for their hard work, but I am in desperate need of more materials.
Our classroom needs more ink for our printer so I can continue to offer printed materials for my students who learn better through hard copies instead of reading digitally.
I am also seeking help in purchasing more stickers for our classroom store. These have proven to be a huge motivation for our students; they are working extra hard to earn points that they can use to purchase these stickers.
