Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am beginning a coding course this Spring with a group of 14 students. These students are excited and so am I at the prospect of learning a skill that could truly change their future. Computer programming is a lucrative career but without encouragement and exposure to it at this age these students would probably never think of it.
I really want my students to learn coding in an interactive and fun environment so I have researched some hardware that can help with that and would be so incredibly excited to have Hummingbird bit's and launchpad music editors for them to learn with!
My Project
My students will be able to engage in learning how to code and the many other productive uses of computers and technology using the items requested in my project. My students have been doing a great job learning the basics of coding and this project will allow me to keep that excitement going.
There are TONS of pathways in computer programming that someone can choose from, and this project will help me show the kids the range of options.
Students could explore their talents when it comes to making new music, coding robots, controlling a drone and anything they could possibly think of with the hummingbird coding kits.
