Help me give my students what they will need to have a community art journal. Students will check both hardbound sketchbooks with pencil pouches filled with the supplies that they need to showcase their creativity.
I teach visual arts and ceramics at our middle school. I am amazed by the talent that I see in my students. I have a wonderful blend of students from all background levels, including high-ability, low-ability, and special needs students.
All of my students are special, and I enjoy making a difference.
I try to make that difference every single day. I am constantly amazed at the creativity that my students have in making artwork. They are amazing!
This is again a crazy year with COVID-19, and we are all just doing the best that we can. I have been trying to cut down on shared materials in class. This Donors Choose project will help so much.
My Project
Art journaling is a practice that has been shown to reduce stress, encourage problem solving, and promote creativity without the pressure of being perfect.
I want to create sets of art journals/sketchbooks that can be taken home.
Each set will be themed, and students can choose a large sketchbook or small sketchbook as well as a variety of art supplies like gel pens, markers, colored pencils, drawing sets with charcoal, erasers, and pencil sharpeners. Students will have everything they need to be creative at home! Themes for the sketchbooks will be faces, anime, creatures, and choice.
