Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students would never imagine themselves as scientists. Most of my students plan on working in the service industry because that is what they know.

In my classroom, I am working to change the narrative to include minority students in science careers.

With the digital microscopes, I plan to do a macroinvertebrate study of pond water to look at the succession of organisms over time and study how environmental factors affect the organisms. The printer cartridges will allow me to print resources in color so my students can understand the material better and be more engaged.
