Help me give my students the tools they need to investigate bacteria and yeast. We need petri dishes, microscope slides, and agar powder.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Gaskill's classroom raised $269

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students need petri dishes, agar, slides, and cover slips to grow, investigate, and observe bacteria and yeast as part of our microbiology unit. Students will also use these materials to help them with their Agar Art projects to enter the American Society for Microbiology Agar Art Contest.
We also need amino acids and carbohydrates to help us investigate how model organisms like yeast metabolize different biomolecules.
Working with real microorganisms and real reagents brings science to life for students, increasing engagement, and providing more powerful data to assist students with sense-making.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
