Mice Can Help Us Practice Our Reading

My students need a collection of 23 English and Spanish books by an amazing children's book author, Kevin Henkes.

I teach 2nd grade at a wonderful Title One Elementary School in Northern California. The school population is mostly lower-middle class families. Approximately fifty percent of our students are English language learners with academic abilities ranging from Gate to special needs.

This is my second year teaching second grade and I desperately need to create a library that the children will love to visit. I would like to create an author's corner with a collection of authors that the children will love, encouraging them to read, read, and read some more.

Kevin Henkes is an amazing author and illustrator of children's book. His characters are an enjoyable collection of mice; who have amazing life experiences. The children will not only enjoy reading these books, but will learn how the mice handled daily issues that they also experience.

Please help my children learn to love to read with this amazing collection of books. I hope this will be the first of many collections of books for our Author's corner.
