My Project

I teach dance at Frederick Douglass High School in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. My students represent a diverse community and share a deep passion for the performing arts. They thrive on opportunities to express themselves creatively and connect with their cultural heritage through various artistic mediums.

The wireless microphones I am requesting will significantly enhance our Fine Arts Department’s ability to deliver high-quality performances.

Specifically, these microphones will be utilized during our Black History Month celebrations, chorus concerts, and several showcases throughout the school year. By providing clear and reliable audio, we can ensure that every student’s voice is heard, allowing for a more immersive experience for both performers and the audience.

Our primary goals for this project include:

Enhancing Performance Quality: The addition of wireless microphones will improve sound quality, enabling our students to present their work more effectively and confidently.

Encouraging Student Engagement: With reliable audio equipment, students will feel more empowered to express themselves, leading to increased participation and enthusiasm for performances.

Fostering Community Connection: These events serve as a platform for students to share their stories and talents with the wider community, promoting inclusivity and cultural appreciation.

What makes my students special is their resilience and creativity. They come from various backgrounds, each bringing unique perspectives to our performances. By investing in wireless microphones, we can elevate their artistic expressions and ensure their voices resonate far beyond the stage.
