My Students

This is my 14th year as a third-grade teacher in Pennsylvania. I always try to create the best learning environment. My students have a wide range of learning abilities and learning styles.

My third graders are always eager to learn each and every day.

I really want to provide them with the best learning environment possible. My students work in collaborative groups throughout the school day. There are lots of discussion times in our classroom in Language Arts and Math class.

My Project

Adding a wireless microphone to my classroom will add a learning tool that engages and encourages participation of all students. This technology integrates the Four Cs of Education (Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration and Creativity). When using this innovative device students learn skills needed in the 21st Century like clear and articulate communication while working with a team, as an essential skill for our future leaders.

Using a microphone engages all students.

A microphone will encourages teamwork with group activities,

guides students in demonstrating their thinking process,

encourages students to make decisions, gives students with special needs a voice to capture strengths, provides choices for students to show what they know, and engages readers in thinking and talking about texts through interactive read-alouds.

In addition, it will encourage engaging discussions and challenge students to listen to one another.
