My Project

My students are creative, curious language learners who are developing the confidence to communicate beyond memorized vocabulary and grammar. Speaking a new language can feel vulnerable, especially when students are worried about making mistakes in front of their peers. I want to create a classroom environment where students feel comfortable taking risks, experimenting with language, and discovering that their voices matter. Through podcasting, video creation, interviews, storytelling, and collaborative speaking activities, students will use Spanish in authentic, relevant, and engaging ways.

**This project will transform part of our classroom into a Spanish media and speaking studio where students can practice, create, record, reflect, and grow as confident communicators.** Microphones will support podcasts, interviews, and speaking practice, while ring lights and a green screen will help students create news broadcasts, commercials, cultural presentations, and videos.

Privacy dividers will provide quieter spaces for individual practice and recording, and timers will help students organize their thoughts and communicate within time limits. Flexible seating will create comfortable spaces for conversation and collaboration, while charging stations, cables, and storage materials will keep our technology organized and ready for use.

For my Spanish III students, this studio will help them move from short, structured responses toward more spontaneous and sustained communication through narration, description, interviews, and real-world scenarios. For my IB Spanish students, it will provide valuable practice for oral assessments through timed responses, visual and cultural prompts, recording, playback, and reflection. My goal is for students at both levels to move from simply studying Spanish to confidently using it. Whether they are recording a podcast, creating a video, preparing an oral presentation, or speaking with a classmate, this studio will help them strengthen fluency, pronunciation, independence, and confidence while finding their voices in Spanish. These reusable resources will support meaningful language learning year after year.
