This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Let's make a difference! Impacting my students means the world to me. They impact me every day and I do my best to share my love of Government with them every single day. Unfortunately, the school does not have funding to provide all the resources our class needs.

This is affecting these students who severely lack resources.

This is severely limiting to my students as we are not able to have copies of all the materials we need to learn and achieve amazing things. Add to this the fact my students do not have textbooks they can take home at night, and this need becomes even more pronounced. They need to be able to read content for my class in the evening and the only way to do that is through printing copies. Thank you for helping my students achieve their dreams. Most of my students are struggling readers. In fact, only 23% were proficient in reading on our state assessment this past year. In order to change this, I need your help to gain the resources to provide my students with printed materials that will enable them to practice their reading.

My Project

Since these students are in a high-need school they face a plethora of challenges. Imagine all the things students must deal with in a tough, urban school. These problems are exacerbated by the fact we do not have the necessary resources to learn as efficiently as possible. With these resources students can get plenty of supplemental materials they can take home to practice independently to build their reading and writing skills. My school is on the turnaround from being a failing school to one in which great learning gains are being made. There is a great deal of enthusiasm and pride, and having these resources will help me take my students to the next level. They deserve it.

The school does not have enough resources for each student so it is imperative they are provided with support!

If they have these resources they will achieve at a much higher level.
