Help me give my students an entry into the wonderful world of Kate Dicamillo! Her beginning chapter books feature a pig named Mercy Watson a pig that loves buttered toast! The sets will be used during reading groups.

My Project

I have a classroom of the sweetest beginning readers. My goal every year is to develop little bookworms, bookstore lovers, and library visitors! We learn about several authors throughout the year. In my classroom children's authors are heroes! We celebrate them. We talk about them like they are a part of our classroom community. Kate DiCamillo is a favorite author of mine. We will read her books in reading groups and as whole class read alouds. We will have a Mercy Watson day and will have buttered toast too! Help us bring Kate to our school.
