Meeting Students Emotional Needs to Help Them Succeed

Help me give my students access to items that will help them regulate their emotions so that they can become more successful learners.

My Project

As a school counselor my job is to help all of my students with their emotional needs. If their feelings are taking over control then they are not able to regulate themselves to be able to learn to their fullest potential in the classroom. Students might need something like a quick snack because they were unable to eat in the morning. They might need to take a break where they use something to help them calm their mind.

Students' emotional needs are important and need to be met before they can focus on their academics.

Once they learn skills to help them cope with their emotions, they will hopefully be more successful learners. Counselors give students the time and place they need to feel safe when their feelings are at the forefront of their school day.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
