My Project

As a high school counselor, I work with students every day who are determined to succeed, often while facing challenges outside of the classroom. Many come to school without basic supplies or essential personal care items, which can impact their confidence, focus, and ability to fully engage in learning.

I love that my students bring incredible diversity to our school community.

They represent a wide range of cultural backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives that enrich our environment daily. They are resilient, motivated, and eager to succeed when given the right support.

This project will create a student support closet stocked with academic supplies such as highlighters, chargers, binders, dividers, pens, pencils, loose-leaf paper, and sticky notes, along with hygiene items, clean socks, and healthy snacks. These resources will be available to students whenever they need them, no questions asked. Each item plays a critical role in supporting student success. School supplies help students stay organized, participate in class, and complete their work with confidence. Hygiene items and clean socks and sweatpants support comfort and dignity, allowing students to focus on learning. Healthy snacks help maintain energy and concentration throughout the school day.

The goal of this project is to remove barriers to learning and ensure that every student has access to the essentials they need to feel prepared, confident, and ready to succeed. By supporting both academic and basic needs, this project helps create a school environment where all students feel valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.
