Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a diverse group of little learners. Our school is an inner-city neighborhood school. A high percentage of my students come from low-income families and 100% of the students at our school receive free lunch. My students work hard and are excited to come to school each day and grow together. Our kindergarteners love learning and growing together!

My Project

This rug will make a huge difference in my students' learning. In kindergarten, it is so important to have a space for our whole class to sit and learn during morning meeting. Our classroom currently does not have a rug for our morning meetings, where we greet one another, read stories, discuss the weather and calendar, and learn so many other important Kindergarten skills!

We will use the rug daily during morning meetings and many other whole-group learning times.

We will also use this rug during center time to learn and grow through play.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
