The students at my school are resilient. They are hardworking and determined to achieve their personal best. Our students are also kind and loving toward others. My students love to help others and be involved with the school.
The teachers, families and students of my school are very family oriented.
I teach at a Title I school in the heart of the central valley of California. Each year I have about 24 students in my class with a diverse group of children. The predominant backgrounds of my students are Hispanic, Punjabi and Hmong. Our community prides itself in our rich diversity with events throughout the year highlighting the traditions, food and customs of each culture.
This carpet will be a place for my students and I to meet daily. Whenever I deliver mini lessons, read aloud to my students or just have discussions with my students, we meet at the carpet. It is an important place in my classroom for learning.
The carpet will provide structure and comfort for my students and everyone will have their own place.
The wobble chairs will support the needs of my more active students so they can focus on the lesson and learning. This carpet will make a huge difference for us, as it will give us a comfortable and welcoming place to meet.
