Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are gifted and talented and love to learn about robotics and learn how to operate them.
Most of the students that I teach speak two languages, English and Spanish.
A majority of the students I teach get free or reduced school lunch. They live in a hard neighborhood but they love coming to school. My students are all gifted and talented. They are awesome kids to work with.
My Project
My students need Meccano MeccaNoid G15 & Meccano MeccaNoid G15 KS to learn about robotics. We started a robotics club this fall, these robots, will allow us to learn about robotics. These items will allow the students to apply their creativity through computer programming and STEM. These robots will give my students experience with computer programming and problem solving, as well as creativity. I will create various challenges in class as enrichment and after school in the robotics club.

From the students' point of view, they will be motivated to come to school and "play" with robots. While they are having fun, we know they will also be gaining hands-on experience with computer programming, coding, problem solving, creative thinking, and team work. These are all important to their development as successful 21st century learners.
