My kids had so much fun making their own bags with their names. I have to admit it was hard at first, but after many tries, we were able to understand how to use the heat press. This was a nice project for my students to be ready for the next school year. The students and staff are so in love with the idea of our outdoor musical instruments that now we are also looking into requesting a grand floor piano. \r\n\r\nWe would love to place the piano in our front courtyard. The piano is an in-ground piano with 25 notes, it has a large footprint, big enough for a group of four or five friends to play comfortably together. They can jump, stamp, wheel, or push down on the 'piano' notes to play their favorite tunes. These outdoor instruments would make our music-based learning choice campus more enriching and engaging for our students. The additional instruments would give our students daily opportunities to create, collaborate, and express themselves through music during recess and outdoor learning. These instruments will not only create an inclusive, joyful environment but it will also make music accessible to all children not just during class, but throughout their school day. \r\n\r\nYour partnership continues to inspire both our young musicians and our community as a whole. We were able to see the caterpillars go into their cocoons and emerge as butterflies and watch the eggs patiently as they hatched in the incubator. Having both the poster and models of the animals for visual resources helped the students see and understand what was going on in the life cycle of both animals. \r\n\r\nThe students were especially curious about what was going on inside the eggs since they could not see what was going on. We were able to use the poster as a reference as we were counting the days until hatch day. Having the visual plastic eggs where they could open an egg on each day and see the growth and the development of the chicks until they hatched was amazing. Once the chicks hatched it was also thrilling to see how quickly they were developing week after week while we had them in the brooders in our classroom.
