My Project

My classroom raised mealworms. We do this for several reasons including learning about life cycles, learning how to be responsible for and take care of living things, as well as watching how living things cause changes to the environment.

This project will be used to cover resources to help us learn and observe more about our mealworms and beetles including tweezers to move them, magnifying glasses to see them closer, containers for students to be able to "have their own," and special magnifiying spoons for the students to be able to make up close observations with.

While some may think having bugs in the classroom is strange it really does bring such a great sense of pride and responsibility to my students. The students also learn that all living things make an impact on our Earth and are important.

Mrs. Collins will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by July 19.
