This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students enjoy participating in lessons that involve inquiry and collaboration. They enjoy having conversations and working with each other to learn new skills. This process boost their levels of confidence and it also gives them an opportunity to share their knowledge about the subject matter.

Applied Science activities will allow them many opportunities to collaborate and discuss the unfolding events taking place before their eyes.

They can analyze and compare results with other groups. They always enjoy this opportunity.

My Project

The materials will enable my students and me to create real-world dishes made of matter so they can use their five senses. The students will make ice cream to reinforce the concepts about states of matter.

They will use heat to transform popcorn seeds into popcorn.

They will begin to explore which forms of matter are reversible and which forms are irreversible.

They will do a Penny Experiment to explore which household solutions will clean a dirty penny so it looks almost new again. The students will investigate how matter changes as they perform these activities. These activities should allow them to make connections with content material.
