The students love having access to all of the sports eqipment we received. They play with it every recess. Our school has limited equipment and they often have to share very few sports balls with hundreds of kids. They love having access to their own things and being able to share with others, too!\r\n\r\nHaving all of this equipment also allows students who would not usually play because there is not enough toys, the opportunity to play. I see more of my non athletic kids out there playing. I notice my kids come in happier after playing at recess. I believe it is also creating a stronger connection and bond between them as classmates and friends because they have the opportunity to play with each other.\r\n\r\nI cannot thank you enough for your donation and for the difference you are making in students today.","fullyFundedDate":1758235334361,"projectUrl":"project/game-on-for-mental-health/9430044/","projectTitle":"Game On for Mental Health!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hager","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10058036"},{"teacherId":10058036,"projectId":9418678,"letterContent":"My students have been so excited to dive in with the new materials! Recently, we used them during a hands-on learning center. We wrapped up our study on Early Humans by completing learning stations. At each station, their task built a piece of a \"campfire\" made out of colored paper to represent the innovation of early humans and the discovery of fire for survival. One specific moment that stood out was when one of the students yelled out, \"OMG it looks like a campfire that they used in the olden days!\" Another student was overheard saying, \"Wow this was really fun! I like all the different colors of the flames.\" It really showed me how much these resources are already making a difference.\r\n\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the room lit up. The students were full of curiosity and couldn't wait to try them. I heard things like \"Wow, we get to use this?!\" and \"Can we start right now?\" They were most excited that they each got their very own glue sticks and wouldn't have to wait and share with the others at their table group. I think the highlight is the access they have to all the colored pens and markers for their interactive notebooks. May students do not have access to these types of luxuries, so this has been so fun to provide for them. \r\n\r\nNext steps:\r\nWe're currently working on a couple projects where these materials will come in handy. We are working on an insulator project where they students will build nests to try and keep their penguin (ice cube) from melting and another project is an Egyptian art project. The next step for my students is to create their projects and then share them with their families. Thanks to your generosity, they now have the tools to bring these plans to life.","fullyFundedDate":1750727647481,"projectUrl":"project/creative-colorful-learning-bring-brigh/9418678/","projectTitle":"Creative & Colorful Learning Bring Brightness/Joy to Our Classroom!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hager","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10058036"},{"teacherId":6901360,"projectId":5032343,"letterContent":"Thank you for your donations that supported this project. My apologies for such a delay to acknowledge everyone. This project happened during the pandemic. I can recall the challenges that we all faced attending classes online. Many students shared a room at home with other school-age scholars. As a result, I could hear other teachers teaching, and family members talking from many homes. It was a serious distraction for my scholars and I. Once the students received the headphones, I noticed a phenomenal increase in my students' ability to remain attentive and focused. \r\n\r\nThe pandemic was a very difficult and challenging time. I am grateful to so many people who opened their hearts and wallets to take care of students and teachers alike. We appreciate your kindness and warm hearts. You really made a big difference in our lives that year. I have fond memories of my scholars and the amount of learning that took place. I will always remember how so many people stood together to give kids what they needed in a time that what so scary and frustrating. I cannot thank you enough. I have changed schools, but the joy of teaching remains. Thank you.","fullyFundedDate":1596686668594,"projectUrl":"project/see-me-hear-me-acknowledge-me-too/5032343/","projectTitle":"See Me, Hear Me, Acknowledge Me too!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Dixon","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6901360"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_105676","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":585,"numTeachers":24,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":19,"percentWhite":4,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":68,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"24.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":66.7,"schoolId":105676,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Bob Holcomb Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Bob Holcomb Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/san-bernardino-city-unified-school-district/little-mountain-elementary/105676"}
