My Project

The requested materials will provide students with a variety of supplies to support their learning of math. For example, the algebra tiles will allow students to work with tangible items to enhance their algebra abilities. The calculators will provide students with the ability to avoid getting stuck on basic arithmetic and focus on the math skill being taught (of course, students will still be working on arithmetic in the classroom as well).

My goal for this project is simply to provide students with the items they will need to enhance their mathematical skills.

I want students to have the opportunity to learn math using tangible items, whiteboards, graphs, etc.

My students are special because they come from diverse backgrounds, and they have been very resilient. They have faced challenges both inside and outside of school, but have ultimately survived and overcome them. It is an honor for me to have the opportunity to support them.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
