First-grade students love to learn. They are active, curious, and eager to learn skills to help them be successful. They need many different kinds of materials to help with math concepts and fluency. Some students experience homelessness and come to us with nothing. These students come from all different backgrounds and skill levels and lack the support of learning.
My students would love more math materials to help them become better mathematicians.
Students who experience homelessness come to us with much greater needs. Sometimes, they do not have materials such as books or extra math support at home. Students who are having difficulty in math need to have extra math both at home and at school.
We need more math options in the classroom so that students have more practice and become more fluent in their math skills.
This will help the students get more practice in both reading and math. Extra practice helps students become better at math and reading.
Having this extra support also give students more confidence in the classroom and a willingness to share their knowledge with everyone.
My Project
My students would benefit from extra math materials this year. The Daily Math Fluency Kit will help them gain the skills needed before the end of the year. This math skill sets will be used to help us dive deeper into math concepts.
I would love to help my students gain a better understanding how math helps us in everything that we do.
I know that the students enjoy learning when there are many different kinds of materials.
These math materials will not only help my students that I have now, but will help us for the future students as well!
This year many students will need help digging deeper into the math material to help their understanding of mathematical concepts. In return, they will gain the confidence needed to share their knowledge with the class.
