My students need a magnetic fraction center, 30 building math skills write & wipe boards, 30 fraction number lines write & wipe white boards, and the fraction bingo game to help them become great mathematicians.
My students come to school excited and motivated to learn. They love to explore new things every day. These students belong to a Title One school in a low income, impoverished neighborhood. These students are diverse: I have students who excel, students who are on grade level, and some below grade level students, as well as limited English learners, and special education students.
These 27 students come to school every day, ready and eager to learn!
My students try to do their best every day. With a little extra help from this project, my students are sure to excel even more!
I will use the fraction magnetic center to teach and manipulate fractions. Students will use their white boards to display their understanding of fractions as they organize, order, and compare fractions. They will work in collaborative groups and manipulate the different pieces to help them see fractions in a variety of ways. They will share their knowledge through classroom presentations using the fraction materials.
Our mathematicians will be busy solving multiple types of fraction problems and will enhance their math knowledge!
These materials will help improve my students' understanding of fractions and will give them a better knowledge of fractions in every day use.
