This is one of the most highly-requested items in my class and the best part is that it motivates them to improve their articulation, expressive language, and social language skills in a fun and functional way. Although it is pretend play, the skills they are learning transfer into the classroom and home setting. For example, students who previously preferred to play alone have collaborated to create menus, one-of-a-kind dishes, and a list of restaurant expectations. New friendships have formed naturally and it's been nice to see them become more confident in their interactions with their classroom peers. Similarly, parents have shared that their children are more engaged when they are grocery shopping- probably because the fruits and vegetables in the food set are inclusive and have led them to develop curiosity. Mr. Potato Head is often the restaurant manager!\r\n\r\nThe sensory beads have been used to engage their senses and also served as an introduction to habitats. The blue beads have a colder feel which makes it ideal 'water' for ocean animals. The green beads happened to match a set of wind-up dinosaurs that I purchased and serve as green 'boulders' that the dinosaurs can walk-on or hide-in which is perfect for reinforcing prepositions. Your contributions have brought so much joy and fostered learning.","fullyFundedDate":1726670874368,"projectUrl":"project/engaging-and-supporting/8682665/","projectTitle":"Engaging and Supporting","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Coronado","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9693291"},{"teacherId":9169907,"projectId":8955037,"letterContent":"With the arrival of the new materials, our daily classroom activities have been transformed. It has made subjects like math and science more tangible and easier to understand.\r\n\r\nCreative Projects: The art supplies have opened a world of creativity for our students. They are now able to express themselves more vividly in their projects, enhancing their creativity and critical thinking skills.\r\n\r\nCollaborative Work: The new sets of materials have facilitated group work and collaboration.
