Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I love seeing the growth in my students! Teaching 5th grade is the best because you can see how the students come in as elementary school students but leave as middle school students. My students grow right before my eyes and I am there to help guide them along the way.
They become so independent and they challenge and support each other.
I love teaching this group of students. They motivate me to strive for more and give my best. When they move on to middle school they often come back to visit saying they miss my class.
My Project
The use of technology is a daily activity in my classroom! Students learn best by reinforcing their concepts on a daily basis. If you keep the students engaged, they will enjoy learning. Each day the students will be working in Math Centers to keep them engaged.
Each student has their own learning style and Math Centers (technology being on of those centers) cater to each of those needs.
The five Chromebooks will be used within the Math Centers on projects, math games, math tutorial videos, Google Classroom assignments, and more. If I had Chromebooks in the classroom for the students to use they could engage in more project based learning. I will have each student on the computer switching every 20 minutes throughout the day.
