Math We Can See and Touch!

My students need fraction multipliers, pentominoes, foam dice and multilink cubes to help us learn math in a fun, engaging way.

My Students

Help us visualize math! My 6th graders love math, but we don't have the manipulatives we need to really make it hands-on.

I teach 6th grade math and science in a small, rural school in Utah.

We have a great community, with about half of our families being Latino. My students really want to learn math and discover that they are good at it, but we don't have the manipulatives we need in order to really have a hands-on classroom.

My Project

I am requesting sets of manipulatives like foam dice for probability, fraction mulitipliers to help students visualize exactly what is happening when we multiply fractions, and multilink cubes to help my students picture the concept of volume. This will really help my students be able to learn these concepts and solidify their knowledge and math skills.

Children learn math so much easier and better when they are able to go from hands-on to visual representation to symbols.

These manipulatives will help my students be able to practice skills and concepts so they can become better mathematicians. Thank you, in advance for donating to my project!
