My Students
My students are incredibly smart and excited to learn daily. In order for me to keep up with their forever growing curiosity and passion for learning, I need the materials to spark their learning.
"There are perhaps no days of our childhood we lived so fully as those we spent with a favorite book." -Marcel Proust
The students that attend this Title I school come from a low socioeconomic status. Many students at our school are on free or reduced price lunch, and the school provides school supplies and the uniform for school. These circumstances often do not allow students access to academic supplies outside the campus of our school. Although these situations are unfair, my students deserve the same materials and access that any other child has. Providing these materials will help to push my students to a successful life.
My Project
Student's in my class are eager to learn even when the material presented is difficult. The additional tools that I am asking for will give my students an opportunity to check for understanding, and also make learning fun!
Being able to make a math problem hands on can make "stick" better.
The math stations will make it easy to give students who are grasping a a topic an opportunity to go and practice it using a game. The whiteboards I am asking offer an opportunity for a quick understanding, and a way to practice multiple problems. The graphing paper offers multiple uses in 5th grade. We use it to practice multiplying, place value and fractions. Not only is it a great tool to graph but even more of an organization tool to use!
