Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We have anywhere between 4-6 students in our AIS Math groups throughout the periods in the day. Our students love learning in small groups! I have started my first year providing Math Academic Intervention Services at our elementary school. We are in a low-income district with parents who work day and night to support their families. Our Next Generation Standards are expecting students to stay focused and work to their highest potential.

Our students come to school eager to learn each and every day.

They enjoy small-group instruction and they love learning centers! They look forward to group activities and they love technology! They put forth a tremendous effort each and every day.

My Project

Students will be able to use the Unifix cubes at school and at home. Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will be able to use the Unifix cubes to help add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions. They will manipulate the cubes to help for better understanding. The fraction tile set will also be an additional hands-on tool, as well as visually assist when solving problems.

The appropriate tools will help with success!

The privacy partitions will be used to help focus those students who are easily distracted by others. We can also use them during formal assessments.
